Adolescents - the Lost tribe?As outlined by Dr. Michelagnoli in the Introduction of this Special Issue, we commissioned this issue to "increase awareness and stimulate debate amongst the paediatric oncology community and adult oncology specialists of the special needs of teenagers and young adults". We hope that our readers will be both informed and excited by the articles within this issue and the questions they raise with regard to access, treatment, transitional care and late effects (to name a few examples). A case is made for a more cohesive approach to the management and treatment of this age group so that they do not become a "Lost tribe" and this in itself raises more questions such as who should manage this service.
