CALL FOR PAPERS
2003 Special Issue on Neuroinformatics
Neuroinformatics is an emerging
field, integrating approaches from neuroscience and information science/technology
to understanding the structure and function of the brain. Neuroinformatics research
is interdisciplinary and aims at unraveling the complex structure-function relationships
of the brain at all levels and scales of analysis.
Neuroinformatics will accelerate the progress
of neuroscience and informatics, for example, by
* more efficient use of neuroscience data
by information-based approaches
* developing and applying new tools and
methods for acquiring, visualizing and analyzing data
* developing new methodologies for generating
theories to derive further experiments and engineering applications
* generating computational theories connecting
neuroscience and information science/technology.
The Special Issue will include invited and contributed articles taking a broad
view of neuroinformatics, with special emphasis on database construction, data
mining, ontologies for neural systems, and the integration of simulation methods
with data analysis.
