Elliptic Curve Cryptography

Much of the security
of e-commerce/m-commerce is based on digital signatures, normally computed
using the RSA algorithm. An alternative approach uses the relatively
new idea of elliptic curve cryptography (ECC), which seems to have advantages
over RSA, especially when memory and processing power are limited (e.g.,
a smart card). This talk looks at the ideas behind ECC and provides
an objective view of the benefits and disbenefits of ECC v RSA.
