Led by Doc Farmer, IS Security Analyst, Riyad Bank, Saudi Arabia
Management Stream
- Thursday 2 November 2000
We are
on the cusp of the Third Millennium - it starts in 2001, not 2000. In
the past 50 years we have seen cultural and technological changes which
are unprecedented in 3 million years of Human evolution, and 10,000
years of Human history. What technological changes will come in the
next 10, 100 or 1,000 years? What will be their cultural and personal
impact? And what security issues will be faced by businesses and individuals
as we enter this next phase of history?
The roundtable
discussion will bring together experts in the fields of computer science,
business, privacy, communications, computer ethics, audit and, of course,
security. It looks at technological issues in the pipeline, and discusses
the security issues surrounding them. Areas of discussion will include
creation of an ethics-based business society, biological computer systems,
direct Human-computer interfaces, zero-time computers, global network
design, individual privacy versus societal rights and other subjects.
