An Update on the Advanced Encryption Standard

This presentation will provide an update on the Advanced Encryption Standard, the current U.S. government effort to develop a new symmetric encryption algorithm standard. In 1999, the National Institute of Standards and Technology had narrowed the field to five algorithms — Mars, RC5, Rijndael, Serpent, and Twofish — and may or may not have chosen a single standard by the time this talk is given.
