Montreal is
a beautiful North American Metropolis. It is situated 1,600 miles from
the ocean and is considered to be the largest inland port in the world.
Montreal is the second largest city in Canada and the largest French speaking
city after Paris, although English is the second spoken language.
The city
is extremely cosmopolitan, and is home to an exciting mix of cultures
and activities, making it the ideal venue for this 11th World Congress
of Psychophysiology, celebrating the 20th Anniversary of IOP.
While
in Montreal delegates can enjoy its lively arts scene, monuments and
museums to suit all tastes, as well as excellent shopping, restaurants
and nightlife. The weather in Montreal in July is generally warm and
sunny, and most of the city is accessible by foot using Montreal's unique
underground network of pedestrian walkways.
Montreal's
Dorval airport is served by a good variety of domestic and international
flights, and is located within easy reach of the city.
The congress
will take place at the Hilton Montreal Bonaventure Hotel, located in
the heart of the downtown area and only minutes walk away from Montreal's
central railway station. The hotel offers superb bedroom accommodation
and meeting facilities as well as excellent leisure opportunities including
an outdoor pool, fitness centre and rooftop landscaped gardens.
