World Resources 2000-2001, People and Ecosystems: The Fraying Web of Life has been featured in the Earth Day 2000 special issue of Time magazine. Maps, graphics and illustrative cases complement the text in this exclusive early release of information to be published in World Resources 2000-2001. Millions of copies of this special issue, published April 22, are available worldwide. WRI and its partners will distribute complementary offprints to key policy audiences. The special edition is sponsored by the Ford Motor Company. A review on the book features in Time Magazine online.

Gala opening
Taking advantage of the presence of environmental ministers and prominent diplomats at the CSD8 April 22-26, WRI plan to host a gala reception in collaboration with Time magazine, UNDP, UNEP and the World Bank to introduce the Time special issue.

Executive summary
An advance summary of findings and recommendations form the forthcoming World Resources report was published on April 22 in English, French, Spanish, and Chinese. It has been mailed to 10,000-15,000 key decision-makers with a cover letter from leaders of the four partner agencies.
