Cognition Online

Cognition Online is primarily intended as a forum for the rapid publication of Brief Articles via the World Wide Web. Brief Articles report an original empirical finding, a major theoretical advance or some crucial development that warrants rapid communication to the scientific community. They describe original, high quality research in the area of Cognitive Sciences and are accepted after full peer review for prioritized publication on this website. All Brief Articles are also published in the first available issue of the print version of Cognition.

To ensure rapid publication, the Brief Articles undergo a special rapid review process such that they are accepted or rejected in less than six weeks.

Authors can include links to relevant websites or databases. Also other datasets such as audio, animations, 3D images and video can be linked to the Brief Articles on-line. There are no submission or page charges, there is no charge for on-line publication of colour figures, and 50 reprints of each article will be supplied free of charge to the authors.

The Brief Articles are available on-line in full text, in Adobe's PDF format, enabling them to be printed in a format identical to that of the printed issue. They are listed separately from the contents list of Cognition to enable easier identification and quick access.

In addition to Brief Articles, the contents lists and abstracts of all articles published in Cognition since 1994, including those of the Special Issues, can be accessed through this site.
