ElsevierPhysics offers several e-mail alerting services through ScienceDirect:

Journal issue alerts     Topic alerts
 
A journal issue alert notifies you by e-mail when a new issue of a particular journal of your choice becomes available on ScienceDirect. A topic alert notifies you by e-mail when a predefined topic related search retrieves new results.
 
How to create a journal issue alert:
Step 1 Click on My Alerts to login or create a new profile
Step 2 Select the journals you are interested in to begin receiving journal issue alerts.
How to create a topic alert:
Step 1 Click on Register to select you favourite topic
Step 2 fill out the form and click on the 'Activate Alert'


The journal issue alerts and topic alerts are free for all users after a simple registration procedure.




Search alerts   Citation alerts
 
A search alert notifies you by e-mail when your stored search retrieves new results.   A citation alert notifies you by e-mail when a selected article is cited by new articles added to ScienceDirect.
     
How to create a search alert:
Step 1 Define and run a Search.
Step 2 Save the search as a Search Alert.
  How to create a citation alert:
Step 1 Find the article of interest by running a search or browsing a journal issue.
Step 2 While viewing the article, click the Save as Citation Alert link.

The search alerts and citation alerts are available for Licensed ScienceDirect users
(will be automatically recognised as belonging to an institute that has a subscription).
