2002. The 53rd EAAP Annual Meeting will be held from 1 to 4 September 2002 in Cairo, Egypt and is hosted by the Egyptian Society of Animal Production. This is the first time an EAAP Annual Meeting has been held outside Europe. Without doubt Egypt offers participants the exceptional opportunity to combine the normal scientific activities of EAAP Annual Meetings with first hand information upon animal production in the dry areas of the Middle East. Participants will also experience the unique and ancient culture of Egypt which has been and remains at the crossroads of so many human civilizations. Egypt is where north meets south, east meets west, Europe and the Mediterranean meet Africa, Christianity meets Islam and history meets the present day. The post-conference tours offer remarkable facilities to visit world-class sites with ease and with congenial colleagues as companions.
The venue is the Conference Centre of Cairo University, which is one of the most modern in Egypt and has facilities to meet all the needs of the EAAP Annual Meeting. The programme includes the usual Study Commission Sessions, Opening Ceremony and Conference Party, Informal Dinner, Accompanying Persons Programme and the spectacular Post-Conference Tours.
