"No Show" Papers and Posters

The Scientific Advisory Committee has recommended and the EAAP Council has decided upon a new policy in respect of papers and posters submitted for presentation at EAAP Meetings when the author(s) fail to be present at the meeting. These papers and posters are commonly referred to as "No Shows". In recent years, note has been taken, with consternation, of the growing members of these "No Shows". This practice is a financially untenable burden for the budget of organising the EAAP Annual Meetings.

On the basis of the cost evaluation of "No Shows" in either theatre or poster sessions, the Council decided that there is no other choice left but to charge the Organisation for which the "No Show" author(s) works with the cost associated with their absence from the meeting. This new policy will be effective from the 2002 meeting in Cairo, Egypt and at all subsequent EAAP annual meetings.
