Scope

Sustainability is an area of fast growing interest and importance to many fields of environmental research and management recognising the fact that resources are not infinite and their use needs to be managed in order to maintain a balance in the environment. The concept of Sustainability and Sustainable Development covers a wide range of areas such as resource and energy management and recycling; sanitation; pollution prevention or cleaner production for innovative technology; environmental impact assessment along with the understanding of the institutional, legal, social, economic and regulatory issues. Emphasis is placed on papers using holistic approach or reporting case studies from developing countries.

The Virtual Journal of Environmental Sustainability includes - depending on editorial policies of the individual journal - regular articles, special issues, letters or short communications, and review articles. It will also include viewpoints written by the Editor or, upon invitation, by other authors.
